Transition Year Curriculum![]() The aim of St Gerald’s College TY Programme is to give students opportunities to discover and develop their individual gifts and strengths. To become more independent and to experience a year where the emphasis will be cultivating individual responsibility for study and self-directed learning. The programme aims also to develop the maturity, social awareness and self confidence of the individual through experiences of adult and working life. During this year the students are introduced to the Leaving Certificate and at least 40% of the timetable is devoted to the study of the academic subjects. Each student has the opportunity to experience a selection of options before making his final subject choice for the Leaving Certificate.
